Blecua is a small village that belongs to the town council of Blecua-Torres. It's situated in area of the province called Somontano. It's 465 m above the sea level and 23 Km away the capital of the province, Huesca.
The urban center is located around the castle, which stands on a hillock.
The houses are built in a typical way. They are usually made of stone and brick. Most of them have been restored recently.
Like many other villages in the area, Blecua had an underground spring. If you want to visit it, you must climb down some steps that lead to the cistern at the bottom. |
In the mount of Blecua, to aproximately 3 Km, it's possible to contemplate the former Roman causeway that was joining the axis Tarraco with Cesaraugusta.
The castle-chapel of Santa Ana is Romanesque (12th century). Asunción church was first Romanesque, but it was modified in the 18th century.
